Payton's Love Note

Payton usually goes to school on Fridays but she hasn't gone since the beginning of December. So, when she went last Friday I thought I'd give her a little note with her lunch to let her know I was thinking of her. In fact, I just ripped a little piece of a note pad and wrote on it, then tucked it into her container. Nothing fancy.
When I picked her up, the kids were having a fruit party. Payton was sitting at her table eating so I went into her class to get her things. When I returned, she asked if I got her pink paper. Not knowing what she was talking about, the teacher got it for me. It was next to her mat where she was taking her nap earlier. Her teacher said that she has carried that "Love Note" everywhere with her since lunch. She even slept with it nestled up to her cheek. How cute, right?
When we got to the car, that was all she talked about. That little "love Note" . It really made her day, and mine.

i Heart Faces Weekly Challenge - PAPER

This week's challenge at http://www.iheartfaces.com/ is Paper. So I instantly thought of when Payton was making a paper machete from a balloon. We were trying to create a Pumpkin Bowl for Halloween.  It was so messy she didn't want to wear her clothes. She was so into creating her craft that I couldn't get one smile from her. I think she liked it!

Halloween 2010

We had fun this Halloween. Payton is at that perfect age where she can enjoy it. She wasn't scared the entire night until she met up with the neighborhood witches and her own MomMom scared her with a BOO! She jumped out of my arms and said "I'm done, I wanna get out of here" Poor thing!

We went with the usual neighborhood gang. My cousin Linda and her granddaughter came down from up north and walked a little with us. It was nice to see them. Of course we did end up with too much candy. Most of the good chocolate went into the freezer. But what does everyone else do with all their candy?

Birthday

Tuesday was Scott's birthday. So to celebrate we went to my in-laws for a bb-q. It was nice, just our family, my in-laws and his Grandmother. I was happy that his Grandmother was able to come over. It's not very often we get to see her.
I always think about how lucky Payton is, let alone Scott. My Grandparents all died when I was very young. So I didn't get to spend much time with them. My Grandfather died in my teens, but we moved to FL when I was 13 and that was the last time I saw him. But Payton has 2 sets of Grandparents and a Great-Grandmother! A Great-Grandmother, that just amazes me. And even though she is not Jessica's biological Great-Grandmother, Jessica still loves her just the same. Payton actually let me take a few pictures of the 2 of them. I didn't get any of Jes and her because her tummy was too full of all the good food and slept most of the time on the couch.
